Photographer of the Week: Athena Ng |
Athena has got to have the coolest underwater macro photos from Cebu. She started taking photos just three years ago and calls herself a beginner (we all feel that way). Asked her what her spirit animal was, her retort was "ano daw?" but rummaging through her images, the Sheep Nudi is her true spirit animal.

Kontiki on my mind |
In order to get subjects tinnier than a grain of rice, she opted for the Olympus TG4 as her weapon of choice. Not content with microscope mode, she further amplifies her images with a Saga +25 diopter and uses a Sea and Sea YSD2 strobe to light things up.

Shaggy |
And the Miss Universe question portion arrives, asking why she takes underwater photos, she shares "I'm simply fascinated with the shapes and colours of the nudibranch and other sea critters that I find". Asked what her dream dive was, she quips "Anywhere with Mantas and Whales" and finally what is your sun sign, she shares "Leo".

Simply awesome |
You may find Athena diving and shooting mostly in Kontiki Cebu, but am pretty sure her Manta and Whale Photos are coming for us to drool over soon. Anyway, we're looking forward to more photos from Cebu's queen of super macro. Thank you for sharing your amazing images to the world.
